Liberal Democrats set out economic plans

So far, what we read of the LibDems is that they pledge to:
- Raise top rate of income tax to 50%
- Replace council tax with a local income tax
- Scrap university tuition fees
- Provide free personal care for elderly and disabled

There's a link to a video presentation by the LibDems, setting-out their economic stall, in the article linked to above. People always say, when surveyed, that they would be 'happy' to pay more tax for good purposes. They don't usually vote that way in elections - the LibDems will just have to hope that enough people think their plans credible; I doubt very much that I do.
(In this context, read about their health plans here)
