Homophobic attacks in [London]Derry are by no means unknown, unfortunately, but in an incident in the city last Sunday a student in his early 20s suffered an attack as a result of which
he may well lose the sight in one of his eyes. Even more tragically this is the second major homophobic attack this young man has suffered in the past two years and according to David McCartney from the Rainbow Project he is understably severely traumatised by what has happened to him.
