A gay couple have become the first same-sex pairing to announce their engagement in the Times forthcoming marriages column". This announcement is made in anticipation of the passing into law later this year of the Civil Partnerships Bill. I'll be cracking a bottle of champagne later this year, with a little luck, to mark this occurring.
