Gay rights in Israel
Israel has, unquestionably, the most enlightened attitude of any country in the Near or Middle East toward its homosexual residents (and its LGBT community generally). However, as this article in Haaretz reveals there remain a number of crucial obstacles to overcome, just the same as there are in many other countries such as the UK (where even getting a hotel or bed and breakfast establishment to accept gay customers as couples can be a problem, although as this Glasgow Herald article reveals one establishment has at least been delisted by VisitScotland for its refusal) - although this ironic article in the Guardian pleasingly finds that the reaction of Mr Forrest of the Cromasaig guesthouse in Kinlochewe, Wester Ross seems not to be typical.
